A change of seasons has brought her to this back road
She's hopin' for a ride
From a man she does not know
She can feel the chill of winter thru her dress
She's out on the road now
And she's headin' for the West

She knows she's in for
Some long and lonesome nights
She's countin' the hours
With each flash of the motel light

What's a girl to do
When she's leavin' and
it's way overdue?

She's headin' for the nearest beach town
Where it feels like the sun
Never goes down
Where she lie in the warm white sand and wait

Till the waves crash in

He' comin' up the driveway of the house that they called home
All the lights are out
He feels a shiver through his bones
